Internships
Hope’s Safe Haven is seeking a Victim Advocate Intern for the fall semester. The intern will assist with overall day-to-day operations of a victim advocacy organization. This internship is a two-part program that will provide the intern with experience in all avenues of advocacy. Half of the semester will be spent at the Emergency Shelter and the other half will be at the main outreach office.
Internship Duties Include:
Assist Victim Advocates in manning a 24-hour crisis line
Provide case management and crisis intervention services to residents
Meet the daily needs of women and children in the shelter
Assist in the daily maintenance and cleanliness of the shelter
Complete intakes and exits with residents
Work with legal advocates on emergency orders of protection
Accompany victims to civil and criminal court hearings
Attend community outreach and prevention meetings
